The War of the Future
The day before last week’s Solar Eclipse, and two weeks
after the twin terrorist bombings in East Africa, the U.S.
military initiated simultaneous strikes against terrorist
facilities in Sudan and Afghanistan. President Clinton,
performing a prodigious mental trick, had neatly separated
the national security needs from his own private Starr wars.
Although Sudan, Pakistan, and a host of sympathetic Arab
nations clamored for proof, the Pentagon targeted Osama
bin Laden’s terrorist network based on a confluence of
solid evidence. Bin Laden (whose astrological signature
was first described here two weeks ago) survived the
Pentagon’s counter-attack, and has since called for an
all-out terrorist campaign against the United States.
Bin Laden’s primary complaint is the presence of American
troops in his native country, Saudi Arabia, a geopolitical
situation echoing the Vietnam War. A fundamental U.S.
war cycle now kicking in is Saturn in Taurus, which every
28-30 years enters America’s seventh house of open
enemies (according to the U.S. Scorpio Rising
horoscope*). Saturn has just reached its closest connection
to the U.S. seventh house cusp while being modified by a
religiously fanatical Pluto in Sagittarius.
Meanwhile, fighting Mars has just entered proud and
imperialistic Leo. Israel, Iran, and most Middle East
national horoscopes have hyper-reactive trigger points in
Leo and Aquarius now on full alert. Over the next week
Mars links up with Saturn and then Pluto, polarizing the
international scene with hostile intransigence, religious
propaganda, and most likely, additional militarism. As
Secretary Albright prophesied last week, this is the war of
the future.
Vesta and Secret Intelligence
The most outstanding feature of last week’s surprise attack
on the international terrorist network was the Pentagon’s
reliance on its own intelligence network. The asteroid
Vesta is closely associated with secret societies and
intelligence, and she was prominently placed in the
relevant horoscopes, especially the Pentagon’s.
The U.S. Pentagon was signed into existence by President
Truman on July 26, 1947 (at 12:15 pm in Washington
D.C.). The prominent role of intelligence is shown in this
chart by the placement of Mars, Uranus, and Vesta in the
information gathering sign of Gemini. These planets are
also in the ninth house of foreign affairs. The Vesta-Uranus
conjunction indicates the use of high-tech listening and
viewing devices.
At the time of the counter-attack, transiting Jupiter was
exactly squaring the Pentagon’s Vesta, reflecting the
opportunity presented by intelligence sources. Also,
transiting Vesta herself was exactly conjunct the
Pentagon’s Midheaven, and ever since this event the
validity and exact nature of intelligence has been the
dominant, and perhaps most fateful issue.
The importance of intelligence gathering in Israel (May 14,
1948; 4:37 pm; Tel Aviv) can be seen by the placement of
Vesta at the Midheaven. Israel’s intelligence agency, the
Mossad, was active during the American strike since
transiting Mars opposite Neptune was lined up with Israel’s
Vesta. Israel most likely provided key intelligence to the
Sudanese chemical factory, and perhaps the Afghanistan
camps as well.
Clinton’s Defiance
Public opinion polls show that the American people, thrust
into a national dialogue about the appropriateness of
Clinton’s “apology” last week, would prefer to have the
whole debacle put aside now. But does that mean the
President should resign, or that Kenneth Starr’s
investigation should end? Neither Starr nor Clinton is in
any mood to back down.
Clinton’s progressed horoscope dramatically describes his
defiant attitude. Born on August 19, 1946 (at 8:51 am;
Hope, AK), Clinton’s progressed Mars is now within one
degree of an exact square to his natal Pluto. This
Mars-Pluto combination is renown for its extreme
willfulness, fighting spirit, and sexual passion. This
aggressive planetary alliance is a natural magnet for
powerful enemies, and when present in the nation’s leader,
the entire country must necessarily become involved in his
domestic and international battles.
Clinton’s progressed Mars forms its exact square to Pluto
in January 2000, which is how long Clinton is willing to
fight to retain his position, and lead the civilized world
against terrorism. Also, his progressed Sun is nearing
Chiron, giving him the now well-deserved moniker of the
“Wounded President.”
Last week’s strikes against bin Laden’s training camps
marked a quantum leap in counter-terrorism efforts. For six
years Clinton has made only nominal efforts in military
matters.
Now, when his anger at Kenneth Starr reached visible
anger levels during his “confession,” he lashed out at
international terrorism when Starr could not be touched.
Psychologically, the President can be compared to a
wounded, trapped animal, and his measured rage may be
the fortunate edge America needs to defend against
terrorism.
